All right everyone here is your review of THE DA VINCI CODE, starring Tom Hanks, Audrey Tattu, Ian Mackellen, and Paul Bettany as Silas and is directed by Ron Howard.
In this film Tom Hanks a famed symbolist is called to the Louver museum one night when a curator has been murdered leaving behind a series of clues and puzzles that Tom must figure out if he is to reveal a covert society dedicated to protecting the ancient secret which has been hidden for 2000 years.
Folks it is safe to say that this film has been highly anticipated for quite a while, but by the reaction of the audience last night at the screening this movie was less then well received.
It has been a long time since I've seen a movie that was 2 1/2 hours that actually felt as if it were 3 1/2 hours. This movie could have been a solid B- if it were 90 minutes.
Lastly in defense of the conservative Christians this movie is super over the top in its blasphemy. And the conservative Christians do have a good point in that if this were any other religion there would be huge uprising.
To sum it all up let me just say this:
Ron Howard and Tom Hanks have been around the block a few times. In other words they are set to a higher standard. This means that this movie should have been close to flawless, but finding even one redeeming quality in this movie is difficult. In a sentence this movie just plain sucked out lout in a big ass way.
With that being said, I give this movie 1/2 Di Nardos
