Alameda:
Saturday, July 4. Alameda's 4th of July Parade at 10 a.m. is the longest Independence Day parade in the nation, with over 170 floats that travel a three mile route. It's followed by a festival from noon to 4 p.m. No fireworks. www.myalamedaparade.com

Saturday, July 4 and Sunday, July 5. Fireworks extravaganza following the conclusion of the San Jose Giants minor league baseball game each night. The festival and baseball game both take place at the San Jose Municipal Stadium. The San Jose America Festival which normally takes place at Discovery Meadow has been cancelled.
