Do you have an album that you'd call your "favorite of all time"?
We polled the DJ's at Radio Alice and here's what they had to say...
Sarah's Pick: The Sensual World by Kate Bush
Absolutely haunting and so different from everything else. Check out "Rocket's Tail" with the Trio Bulgarka ... I mean, what IS that? Plus you can't beat "This Woman's Work" for a tear jerker and every song is so moody and deep. Love it!!
Jayn's Pick: Joshua Tree by U2 Gotta start with the big guns... if I absolutely HAD to choose one CD out of every one ever released, it'd be this one. There isn't a song on this CD that shouldn't win a freaking Pulitzer Prize. "With or Without You" and "Running to Stand Still" are particularly shattering ...
Sarah's Pick: Boston by Boston
I know, not exactly Alice-y, but ever since singer Brad Delp died, I've been listening to it constantly. For me, (cuz I'm OLD) it's a "Soundtrack to My Life" kind of album and there's nothing better to sing in the car at the top of your lungs!
Jayn's Pick: Vs. by Pearl Jam
The day this CD was shipped to radio stations, my boss at the time handed it to me and said, "Track it." To this day it's one of my favorite radio experiences ever. I just went on the air and said, "Here's the new Pearl Jam CD in its entirety, I haven't heard it either! Let's listen to it together and see what it sounds like." Then I put it in the player and only broke in between songs to say "That was track one, called "Go," this is track two, called "Animal", and so on. We lucked out that the CD we decided to track on the air - without ever having heard it before - happened to be one of the best CDs ever.
