I. Categories:
a. Alice’s 3-Minute Film Festival contains four categories available for entries:
Animation
Comedy
Drama/Documentary
Original Music Video
II. Eligibility Requirements:
a. Film submission is open world wide, but you must be at least 18 or older to submit. However, your film must in English or include English subtitles. To attend the Alice 3-Minute Film Festival and Film Festival Award Show event April 11th, 2008 at Bimbo's 365 Club in San Francisco, you must be at least 21 or older.
b. Employees of KLLC and CBS Radio Inc., its affiliated advertising agencies, participating sponsors and promotional partners, other radio stations in the San Francisco metropolitan area and the members of their immediate families are ineligible to participate or win.
c. Films, which are under contract to a major motion picture studio, are not eligible for submission to the Event.
d. Film submissions may have been submitted to previous film festivals, but no film submission which has been awarded a prize over $10,000.00 in any previous film festival may be submitted.
III. Submission Requirements and Procedures:
a. Drama/Documentary, Comedy. Animation and Original Music Video film submissions must be between a minimum of two minutes (2:00) and a maximum of five minutes (5:00) in length, not including end credits.
b. All film submissions must be original works of authorship created no earlier than January 1, 2000. Entrants must own or license all elements of the work (e.g. screenplay, musical score, etc.)
c. All film submissions must be in English or must include English subtitles.
d. Entrants may submit multiple entries in the 4 film categories. Each entry must be submitted with its own completed official entry form and separate package.
e. All film submissions must be submitted on DVD format. Each DVD case and disc must be labeled with the films title and contact information (including name, address and phone number) and official 3-Minute Independent Film Festival entry form. If a film is selected as a finalist to be screened at Alice’s 3-Minute Film Festival, finalists will be asked to submit their film in Beta cam or DVD format for the final event screening.
f. Film submissions will not be acknowledged or returned. Entries become the exclusive property of KLLC. Please do not send originals, only copies.
IV. How to Enter:
a. Film submissions must be sent in protected packaging, by registered mail or by courier to: Alice Film Festival, 865 Battery Street, San Francisco, CA 94111.
b. Each entry must be accompanied by a completed official entry form. Entry forms are available on the KLLC website at radioalice.com and at the KLLC business office, 865 Battery Street, San Francisco, CA 94111 during regular business hours.
c. Any submission that does not comply with the entry and eligibility requirements will not be eligible for consideration.
d. All film submissions must be received between December 18, 2007 and March 24, 2008 at 5pm Pacific Time.
V. Selection of Prize Winners:
a. Once each entry is screened for compliance with the entry requirements, it will be screened and judged by a panel of independent film experts from whose decisions are final and binding.
b. In the Drama/Documentary, Comedy and Animation categories, a panel of judges will select four to five finalists in each category. The four or five finalist entries will be screened at the Sixth Annual Alice 3-Minute Independent Film Festival to be held April 11, 2008 at Bimbo's 365 Club in San Francisco. KLLC will notify each finalist by phone. Each finalist will receive four (4) tickets to the Film Festival Screening/Award Show. The remainder of the tickets will be distributed or sold by the Station to KLLC listeners. In the Music Video category, a panel of judges will select one (1) winning Original Music Video winning video to be screened at the film festival and to be honored in the award ceremony with a $1000.00 prize. The $1000 cash prize will be awarded in a form of a check. If the winner is in the United States, payments of all federal, state and local taxes are the sole responsibility of the winner. If the winner lives outside of the United States (International), federal, state and local taxes will be taken out of the check (prize) and the winner will receive the balance.
c. The finalists’ films in Drama/Documentary, Comedy and Animation will be judged for best film in category at the Alice 3-Minute Independent Film Festival by a panel of made up of celebrity and industry judges. The decisions of the panel are final and binding.
d. Film submissions in each category will be evaluated for originality, creativity, technical excellence and style.
e. One (1) First Place prize will be awarded in the Drama/Documentary category, the Comedy category and the Animation category. First Place Prize in each category is $3,000.00. One (1) cash prize will be awarded in the Original Music Video category. The Original Music Video Cash Prize is $1000.00. All cash prizes will be awarded in a form of a check. If the winner resides in the United States, payments of all federal, state and local taxes are the sole responsibility of the winner. If the winner resides anywhere outside of the United States of America, federal, state and local taxes will be taken out of the check (cash prize) and the winner will receive the balance.
f. KLLC, in its sole discretion, may award additional prizes that will be announced at the Screening.
VI. Conditions:
a. Each entry must meet the entry requirements specified above.
b. By submitting an entry, entrant represents and warrants that he/she is the sole creator and owner of the film submission (or has been assigned the rights in the work by co-collaborators) and that all copyright and intellectual property clearances have been obtained from the appropriate sources.
c. KLLC accepts no responsibility for entries that are lost or damaged in transit. KLLC shall use reasonable care to prevent any loss or damage to entries received, however, KLLC shall not be liable for direct, indirect or consequential loss which results from the loss or damage to any entry.
d. Any non-conforming entries will be disqualified. Altered, defaced, mutilated, illegible or incomplete entry forms are not eligible.
e. KLLC is not responsible for and shall not be liable for: lost, late, damaged, incomplete, illegible, unintelligible, or misdirected entries; any technical difficulties; any conditions caused by events beyond the control of KLLC that may cause the Event to be disrupted or corrupted; any injuries, losses or damages of any kind arising in connection with or as a result of a prize, acceptance, possession, or use of a prize, or from participation in the Event.
f. KLLC reserves the right to suspend, cancel or modify the Event if fraud or technical failure corrupts the administration, security or proper play of the Event as determined by KLLC in its sole discretion.
g. Event winners will be required to sign a liability release prior to acceptance of any prize valued at $600.00 or greater. Pursuant to the liability release, winners will agree to hold KLLC, its corporate licensee, Infinity Broadcasting Corporation, its corporate parent, Viacom Inc., affiliated companies and the officers, shareholders, directors and employees, agents and representatives of each of them harmless against any and all claims or liability arising directly or indirectly from the prize or Event.
h. Each entrant also agrees to release and hold KLLC, harmless from any and all losses, damages, rights, claims, and actions of any kind in connection with the Event or resulting from acceptance, possession or use of any prize. Including without limitation personal injury, death, property damage and claims based on publicity rights, defamation or invasion of privacy.
i. Each entrant agrees that KLLC’s only obligation is to submit entries from eligible contestants to the panel of judges according to the procedures and criteria set forth in these official rules and award the prizes set forth herein to winners, subject to the terms and conditions herein.
j. Entrants agree that KLLC’s obligation is fair and adequate consideration for any entry submitted and that contestant is not entitled to and shall not seek any further financial or other compensation.
k. Each entrant agrees that by submitting an entry he/she allows the use of his/her own name, likeness, film submission and/or voice in publicity, radioalice.com including the Alice Choice Awards listener online voting campaign or advertising relating to the Event without additional financial or other compensation for the 2008 Alice 3-Minute Film Festival and any future Alice 3-Minute Film Festivals.
l. Unless prohibited by law, KLLC’s liability shall be limited to the lesser of (a) the value of the media on which the entry was contained or (b) U.S. $50.00
m. No purchase is necessary. The Event is void where prohibited.

o. KLLC-FM reserves the right to make changes in the rules of the Alice 3-Minute Independent Film Festival, which will be become effective upon announcement

Presentation Format:
We will accept works completed in DVD format. If you are a finalist in the film festival, you will need to provide us a high-resolution copy of your film on beta. And you will need to provide within 3-days of our ‘good-news-you're-a-finalist’ phone call.
Submission format:
For purposes of submission, all preview copies must be submitted on DVD.

Let’s be Fair about this:
Films that are under contract to a major motion picture studio are not eligible for submission to the event (as if you need our help). Film submissions may have been submitted to previous film festivals, but no film submission which has been awarded a prize of over $10,000 in any previous film festival may be submitted (if you've won that much, you need to give someone else a chance).
Age Restrictions:
You must be 18 or older to submit a film. You must be 21 or older to attend the Alice 3-Minute Film Festival. If your film is nominated and you are not 21, you can send someone in your place to represent your film.
